Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the rotor resistance at the starting period and to improve the starting characteristic of an induction motor by a method wherein a parallel circuit of a reactor and a capacitor resonating with the rotor frequency at the starting period is connected in series to the rotor winding. CONSTITUTION:Axial directional slots for every phases of rotor windings 7 are provided in a spinder 2 made of cast iron or cast steel at the inside of magnetic path of a rotor 1, yokes 5 being wound with reactor windings 4 are inserted in the slots and are fixed, and proper gaps are provided between the inside walls contacting with the yokes 5 to increase the capacity of the reactors. Capacitors 6 to be connected in parallel with the reactor windings 4 are formed in a cylindrical form, and are inserted into the proper positions in the spinder 2 and are fixed. The reactor windings 4 and the capacitors 6 in every phases are connected in parallel, and are connected in series to the rotor windings 7. The impedance value of the parallel circuits consisting of the reactor windings 4 and the capacitors 6 are so set up as the circuits resonate with the rotor frequency at the starting period.
