Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce vibration and noises of an engine without deteriorating combustion of fuel, by providing a means for decreasing restriction of an intake shutter when the engine temperature is low in an intake system having an intake shutter in its intake passage.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of idling operation of engine, a three-way solenoid valve 10 is opened since an accelerator switch 24 is kept ON, so that negative pressure or partial vacuum is transmitted from a vacuum tank 13 into a vacuum chamber 8a of a power chamber 8. Resultantly, an intake shutter 4 is turned to its closed position by a diaphragm 8b and a linkage 6. Here, if the engine temperature is low, an on-off valve 19 which is opened automatically when the engine temperature is low is opened, so that air is passed through a by-pass passage 20. Therefore, restriction to the air flow by the intake shutter 4 can be decreased. At the time of decelerating operation of the engine, on the other hand, a solenoid valve 17 in a by-pass passage 16 is opened, so that restriction to the air flow by the intake shutter 4 can be also decreased.
