PURPOSE:To obtain a Cr type stainless steel plate without roping by a method wherein Cr type stainless steel is processed into a cast segment by continuous casting and this cast segment is subjected to cold rolling through various processes comprising rolling, cooling treatment, hot finish rolling and bell annealing. CONSTITUTION:A casted segment abtained by continuous casting of a ferrite grade Cr type stainless steel is subjected crude rolling at about 31% draft and, after cooling treatment, heated again to about 1200 deg.C to carry out hot finish rolling, subsequently subjected to bell annealing at about 830 deg.C for few hrs. Thereby, a direction of crystal particles are rendered random and continuous casting which can not be carried out conventionally is enabled and a Cr type stainless steel plate without generating roping is obtained.
