Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the title film having low temperature shrinkability and high strength, by drawing a molded blend of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and an α-olefin copolymer elastomer at a low temperature biaxially under specific condition in two stages.
CONSTITUTION: 95W10 wt.% of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an M1 of 0.2W10 with a vinyl acetate content of 5W30 wt.% is blended with 5W90 wt.% of an α-olefin copolymer elastomer consisting of a copolymer of ethylene, 1-butene, and isobutylene, etc. with an ethylene content of 60W95 mol%. The blend is then extruded through a circular die at 180W280°C and quenched and solidified by a liquid coolant to give a tubular raw film free from thickness deviation, which is heated at normal temperature to 100°C and drawn at 20W100°C at an area draw ratio of 5W30 and a lateral draw ratio of 2W7 while air of 100W1,000 mmHg is being blown into the film.
