Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the width of an electron-beam image narrow by increasing X-ray beam power without the breakdown of a target by changing a tilt angle corresponding to a deflection angle while tilting the electron-beam irradiation surface of the target to the electron-beam defelction surface.
CONSTITUTION: Electron beam FG, whose section is made into a long and thin rectangle of width (b) by length (h), is caused to strike target Tb, provided at angle θ, perpendicular to this paper surface. Length (h') on Tb is (h)/Sin θ and electron-beam power P is nearly equal to (h) × (b)1/2. With (b) constant, P is double at angle θ of 30°. A thin and long electron beam, generated 11, is deflected and caused to strike target 13 and generated X rays are extracted through small aperture 15 of the lens. When tilt angle θ of the tartet is varied with position, the electron-beam image viewed from aperture 15 has no tilt and the narrow-width X- ray beam is projected on a subject, thereby increasing the power. In case of the use for a CT unit, a tomographic image of extremely-high resolution can be obtained.
