Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a stationary constant temperature by providing the power distribution to compensate a heat loss curve based on the temperature curve in a coil upon induction heating of works therein.
CONSTITUTION: The works are inserted into a series of induction heating coils 1a to 1d in the direction of an arrow A to be heated by an magnetic field produced by each coil. To the coils are parallel connected the condensers 2a to 2d to improve a power- factor respectively, and control of the power supplied to each coil is carried out by switching each tap of transformers 3a to 3d to each of switches 4a to 4d. The tapered power distribution in each coil is provided by gradually increasing the winding width of each coil 8 wound through insulators 9 disposed among the coils 8 on the outer periphery of a cylindrical refractory 7 with getting nearer to an outlet of the works.
