Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent pressure-welded terminals from coming off and being pressure-welded incompletely by fitting terminal fixation rods in through holes in an insulating case to pass the terminal fixation rods through terminal fixation holes in the pressure welded terminals. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electric wire insertion holes 3 and through holes 4 are made in the lower and upper parts of an insulating case 2 respectively. A plurality of connector fitting sections 51, 52, and 53 are made vertically on the upper face 2b and a plurality of terminal fitting holes 6 are made vertically piercingly across the electric wire insertion holes 3 and through holes 4. In assembling, the electric contacts 8 of pressure-welded terminals 7 are fitted in the terminal fitting holes 6 and terminal fixation holes 11 are made to correspond to the electric wire insertion holes 3. Electric wires 1 are inserted, the pressure welded terminals 7 are pushed in, and the electric wires 1 are connected to the slots 10 by press-fitting. Terminal fixation rods 12 are inserted into the through holes 4. Linkage rods 14 to connect the terminal fixation rods 12 are locked to the insulating case 2 by fitting locking claws 16 in locking holes 15.

Therefore, by inserting the terminal locking rod 12 into the through hole 4 as shown in FIG. 3C, the rod 12 passes through the terminal locking hole 11 and the pressure contact terminal 7 is locked. Further, the chain attachment 4 is locked to the insulating case 2 by a lock hole 15 and a lock claw 16. At this time, if necessary, the ends of each electric wire 1 are bent and led out from the wire holding groove 17 of the frame member 13, so that the electric wire 1 can be held securely.

In Figures 3 and C, the pressure of the electrode '4IAI is insufficient.
That is, unless the pressure contact terminal 7 is pushed into the terminal receiving hole 6 by a predetermined stroke, the terminal locking rod 12 cannot be inserted, which is useful for checking incomplete pressure contact. Also,
Since the slot throat 10 is designed as a closed body, there is little risk of the wires spreading during pressure welding, and stable contact pressure can be obtained.

As explained above, the branch connector according to the present invention allows the electric wires forming the pattern to pass through the terminal locking holes of the pressure contact terminals that have been inserted into the terminal receiving holes of the insulating case in advance, thereby positioning the terminals and preventing them from coming off. However, all the pressure contact terminals can be pressure connected to the electric wire at once, which simplifies the assembly process.
