Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a ribbonlike material not stretching even by applying tension to the material, by dividing a ribbonlike material into plural sections by entangled parts made at spots of the ribbonlike material separated at intervals and comprising two groups of filaments wherein one group alternately expands in the direction perpendicular to longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:Filaments constituting a ribbonlike material 1 have entangled parts 2 of interwinement and each filament is not separated during handling. In sections 3 made between the entangled parts 2, the ribbonlike material comprise filaments f1 and f1' of a first group which are arranged in longitudinal direction and preferably twisted and filaments f2 and f2' of a second group which are expanded in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. A filament belonging to the filaments of the first group in one section is made to belong to the filaments of the second group in another section so that the whole length of each filament constituting the ribbonlike material 1 is uniformed.
