Description
本発明は放射線硬化性ホットメルト組成物及びその末端用途に関する。
発明の背景
感圧性接着剤(PSA)組成物は感圧性接着テープに使用され、この接着テープは裏張り材(backing)及びPSA組成物を含む。
本発明は、放射線硬化性接着剤組成物及び放射線硬化された接着剤を含むPSA物品を提供する。
放射線硬化性のアクリルポリマー類及びポリオレフィン類を使用して調製される接着剤組成物が、テープ類などの感圧性接着性物品の製造に利用できることが見出されている。UV透過性ポリオレフィンコポリマー類を使用することによって感圧性テープなどの接着性製品の製造に要求されるアクリル樹脂の量を低減できる。ポリオレフィン添加剤はUV吸収を妨げることがなく、接着特性の実質的な損失に寄与しない。ポリオレフィン添加剤を含む接着剤自体は高価ではない。その理由は、高価なアクリルポリマー類が本発明の配合物には少量の使用で済むからである。
本明細書で使用する「粘着性付与剤」の用語は、ホットメルト接着剤組成物に粘着性を付与するために使用される全ての組成物を意味する。ASTM D−1878−1Tは粘着性を「別の表面に接触すると直ちに測定可能な強度の結合を形成することを可能にする材料の性質」として定義している。
ベンゾフェノン、ベンジルジメチルケタール、イソプロピルチオキサントン、ビス (2,6-ジメトキシベンゾイル)(2,4,4-トリメチルペンチル)フォスフィンオキサイド、2-ヒドロキシ -2-メチル-1-フェニル-1-プロパノン、ジフェニル(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)ホスフィンオキサイド類、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン、2-ベンジル-2-(ジメチルアミノ)-1-4-(4-モルホリニル)フェニル-1-ブタノン、アルファ、アルファ-ジメトキシ-アルファ-フェニルアセトフェノン、2,2-ジエトキシアセトフェノン、2-メチル-1-4-(メチルチオ)フェニル-2-(4-モルフォリニル)-1-プロパノン、2-ヒドロキシ-1-4-(ヒドロキシエトキシ)フェニル-2-メチル-1-プロパノン
の内の一以上を挙げることができる。
本発明の接着剤は代表的には約50重量%〜約80重量%のUV硬化性ポリマーを含む。
本発明の接着剤配合物におけるポリオレフィンの使用によって良好な耐水性及び耐溶剤性が与えられ、UVに対する透明性が与えられるが、UV硬化メカニズムのフリーラジカル反応を阻害しない。よって、より厚いフィルムのより深い侵入と増大した硬化時間が本発明の接着剤を使用したときに得られる。加えて、アクリル樹脂及びポリオレフィンのブレンド物が、使用されるポリオレフィン非相溶性粘着性付与樹脂Kristalex F85などの使用を可能にすることが判明している。
本発明の組成物は当業者に知られている他の添加剤を含んでもよい。これらの添加剤としては、顔料、充填材、蛍光添加剤、流動添加剤及びレベリング添加剤、湿潤剤、界面活性剤、消泡剤、レオロジー改質剤、安定剤、酸化防止剤などが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。場合によって添加されてもよい他の添加剤としては、アクリレート又はメタクリレート官能基を含む不飽和オリゴマー類及び多官能性モノマー類、例えば、SR 295、 SR 355、SR 350などのSartomerから入手できるもの、追加の光開始剤、などが挙げられる。好ましい添加剤は、関連する波長において明確な吸収を有しないものである。
UV波長を放出する慣用のHバルブ及び中圧水銀ランプが本発明の実施に使用できて、本発明の接着剤を硬化できる。
実施例
以下の実施例において使用された試験方法は以下のように実施した。
接着性フィルムは中圧水銀アークランプを使用してIST UV 硬化実験室ユニットを使用して硬化した。UVCドーズ量はEIT Power Puckを使用して測定し記録した。UVCは200〜280nmの領域である。ベンゾフェノン光開始剤基はこの領域にピーク吸光度を有する。
接着剤をChemsultants Hot melt laminator coaterを使用してシリコーンライナー上に60グラム/平方メートルのフィルムとしてキャストした。硬化したフリーのフィルムを36μm又は50μmのPETの裏張りフィルムに移した。
ステンレス鋼パネル(Afera steel(Rocholl GmbHから))を標準FINAT法どおりに洗浄した。このステンレス鋼パネルを使用する前に、それは、試験パネルの長さに沿って400-grit 防水性ウエット及びドライサンドペーパーで、その鋼パネル上を水が滑らかに流れるまで蛇口の下で研磨した。この後、それは水ですすがれ、乾燥され、酢酸エチルで洗浄され、少なくとも1時間気候調節室で調整された。
裏張り紙を各ストリップから剥がし、軽く指で押さえることで洗浄した試験板上に接着剤側を下にして置き、その後、およそ10mm/秒の速度で標準2Kg FINAT試験ローラーで各方向に2度巻いた。ストリップを試験板に2分ごとに1つの割合で施した後、それらストリップを、第一の試験片が20分又は24時間のドエル(dwell)を有するまで放置した。
AF:接着不良又は容易剥離。試験片は残留物を残すことなく試験板から分離する。
CF:結合力不良。接着剤フィルムは結合して分割し、試験片及び試験板上に残留物として残る。
アクリル樹脂とポリオレフィンとを混合するために使用した一般的な方法は以下のとおりである。
粘度の測定は規定温度でBrookfield DV-I Viscometerを使用して測定した。10gのサンプルを27番スピンドルと共に4rpmの速度設定で使用した。
ポリエチレン/ポリプロピレン リコセン(Licocene)コポリマー類(Clarientによって供給)とA204アクリル樹脂との相溶性を異なる量比で試験した。目視観察結果と粘度データ(Brookfield Viscometerで27番スピンドルを使用して130℃で測定した。)を表1に示す。
実施例2
様々な供給者(例えば、Arkema Inc. 、ExxonMobil Chemicalsなど)から入手したポリエチレン/ビニルアセテートコポリマー(X(ビニルアセテートの%)−Y(メルトフローインデックス))とA204アクリル樹脂との相溶性が試験された。目視観察結果と粘度データ(Brookfield Viscometerで27番スピンドルを使用して130℃で測定した。)を表2に示す。
実施例3
Arkema Inc.によって供給されたポリエチレン/アクリレート ロトリル(Lotryl)コポリマー類(X(アクリレートの%)−Y(メルトフローインデックス))とA204アクリル樹脂との相溶性が試験された。目視観察結果と粘度データ(Brookfield Viscometerで27番スピンドルを使用して130℃で測定した。)を表3に示す。

実施例5
様々なポリエチレンコポリマー類とA204アクリル樹脂とを含む接着剤サンプルをシリコーンライナー上に60gsmでコートし、その後120 mJ/cm2 UVCに曝露した。硬化フィルムをその後36ミクロンPETに移し、剥離接着値をステンレス鋼N/25mmで測定した。結果を表5に示す。
実施例6
様々なポリオレフィン類とA204樹脂とから接着剤配合物を調製し、それらをシリコーンライナー上にChemsultants coaterで60gsmでコートし、その後、Hバルブを有するIST UV 硬化実験室ユニットを使用して90 mJ/cm2 UVCで硬化した。フリーなフィルムをその後50ミクロンPETに移し、ステンレス鋼上で試験した。結果を表6に示す。
