以下、本発明の第1実施形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
変形例1を図6に基づいて説明する。図6は、本発明の変形例1に係る雨滴検出装置1の分解斜視図である。なお、第1実施形態と同一機能物は、同一符号を付す。

Claims (7)
- 発光素子からの光をウインドシールドの内壁側から照射し、前記ウインドシールドの外壁面で反射した反射光を受光素子にて受光し、その受光強度を計測することにより前記ウインドシールドの外壁面に付着した雨滴の量を検出する雨滴検出装置であって、
前記ウインドシールドと前記発光素子との間に前記ウインドシールドに対して傾いて配置され、前記発光素子からの光を平行光にさせる第1レンズ部と、
前記反射光を前記受光素子に集光させるように前記ウインドシールドと前記受光素子との間に前記ウインドシールドに対して傾いて配置される第2レンズ部とを備え、
前記第2レンズ部は、前記反射光の径方向断面よりも大きく、
前記第1、第2レンズ部における前記ウインドシールドに対し垂直な方向の大きさにより変化する前記第1レンズ部および前記第2レンズ部のレンズ径が、前記第1レンズ部よりも前記第2レンズ部の方が大きくなっていることを特徴とする雨滴検出装置。 - 前記第1レンズ部、および前記第2レンズ部と、前記ウインドシールドの内壁との間には、前記平行光を前記ウインドシールドの内壁に導き、前記反射光を前記第2レンズ部に導く導光部が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の雨滴検出装置。
- 前記第1レンズ部、および前記第2レンズ部は、ポリカーボネイト、ポリメチルメタクリレート、アクリル樹脂、ポリエステルのいずれか一つで成形されていることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載の雨滴検出装置。
- 前記第1レンズ部が、そのレンズ部の中心軸に沿い、かつこの中心軸と前記ウインドシールドとのなす角とほぼ同じ角度でもって前記ウインドシールドと交わる第1の仮想の平面で二分割され、前記発光素子の光源から前記二分割された前記第1レンズ部までの距離が異なるように、かつ前記二分割された前記第1レンズ部の前記ウインドシールドに対して垂直な方向の高さの差が小さくなるように互いにずらして配置され、
前記第2レンズ部が、そのレンズ部の中心軸に沿い、かつこの中心軸と前記ウインドシールドとのなす角とほぼ同じ角度でもって前記ウインドシールドと交わる第2の仮想の平面で二分割され、前記受光素子の受光点から前記二分割された前記第2レンズ部までの距離が異なるように、かつ前記二分割された前記第1レンズ部の前記ウインドシールドに対して垂直な方向の高さの差が小さくなるように互いにずらして配置されていること特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の雨滴検出装置。 - 前記第1レンズ部、前記第2レンズ部、および前記導光部を保持するケースを備え、
前記ケース、前記第1レンズ部、前記第2レンズ部、および前記導光部は、同一材料の同一成形品であることを特徴とする請求項2から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の雨滴検出装置。 - 前記発光素子と前記受光素子とが実装された回路基板を備え、
前記回路基板は、前記ケースに支持されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の雨滴検出装置。 - 前記ケースは、前記第1レンズ部および前記第2レンズ部側を開放し、前記第1レンズ部および前記第2レンズ部の周囲を取り囲む側壁面の一部に凹部を有し、
前記回路基板には、前記回路基板と外部との電気的接続を図るコネクタが備えられ、
前記回路基板は、前記回路基板にて前記ケースにおける前記開放している前記第1レンズ部および前記第2レンズ部側を塞ぐとともに、前記コネクタにて前記凹部を塞ぐように前記ケースに固定されることにより、前記第1レンズ部、および前記第2レンズ部が、前記ケース、前記回路基板、および前記コネクタによって略密閉の状態とされることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の雨滴検出装置。
