Abstract
【解決手段】本発明に係る放電灯点灯装置10は、基準放電灯5aとその他の放電灯5bとを含み、それぞれの放電灯5a、5bには、可変インダタンス素子4A、4Bと、管電流検出部6a、6bとが接続され、可変インダクタンス素子4A、4Bには管電流制御回路7a、7bが接続されており、その他の放電灯5bの管電流制御回路7bには、その管電流検出部6bからの出力信号と共に基準放電灯5aの管電流検出部6aからの出力信号9が接続されて、この出力信号9を基準として放電灯5bの管電流が制御される。また、出力信号9は制御回路2にも接続され、放電灯5a、5bの管電流は、さらにスイッチング素子Q1〜Q4の駆動制御によって制御される。

Claims (6)
- 直流電源と制御回路とスイッチング素子と昇圧トランスとを備え、前記直流電源に接続された前記スイッチング素子は前記制御回路からの信号にて前記昇圧トランスの一次側を駆動して該昇圧トランスの二次側に接続した複数の放電灯を点灯させる放電灯点灯装置であって、
前記複数の放電灯は、基準放電灯と該基準放電灯を除くその他の放電灯から構成され、
それぞれの前記放電灯には、該放電灯の一端と前記昇圧トランスの二次側の一端との間に介在する可変インダタンス素子と、前記放電灯の他端側に設けた管電流検出部とが接続され、前記可変インダクタンス素子には管電流制御回路が接続されて、前記可変インダクタンス素子と前記放電灯との間に設けたコンデンサと、前記昇圧トランスの漏れインダクタンスと、前記可変インダクタンス素子のインダクタンスとで直列共振回路が形成されており、
前記その他の放電灯の管電流制御回路には、該その他の放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号と共に前記基準放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号が接続され、前記その他の放電灯の管電流制御回路の出力信号を対応する前記可変インダクタンス素子に接続してそのインダクタンスを可変することによって、前記その他の放電灯の管電流を制御することを特徴とする放電灯点灯装置。 - 前記基準放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号は、さらに前記制御回路に接続され、該制御回路は、前記基準放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号を使用して、前記スイッチング素子のオン・オフ動作を制御することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の放電灯点灯装置。
- 前記基準放電灯の管電流制御回路は定電流回路であり、該定電流回路に接続する可変インダクタンス素子のインダクタンスは、ほぼLmin+ΔL/2(ただし、Lminは該可変インダクタンス素子のインダクタンスの最小値、ΔLは該可変インダクタンス素子のインダクタンスの可変幅)に保持されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の放電灯点灯装置。
- 前記その他の放電灯の管電流制御回路はオペアンプとトランジスタを具備し、該その他の放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号と前記基準放電灯の管電流検出部からの出力信号とを前記オペアンプに入力し、該オペアンプの出力を前記トランジスタのベースに接続し、該トランジスタのコレクタを前記可変インダクタンス素子に接続して、該可変インダクタンス素子のインダクタンスを可変することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1つに記載の放電灯点灯装置。
- 前記可変インダクタンス素子がトランスを構成し、該トランスの制御巻線の両端にスナバ回路を接続してなることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の放電灯点灯装置。
- 前記放電灯点灯装置が液晶表示装置用のバックライト装置に組み込まれてなることを特徴とする1から5のいずれか1つに記載の放電灯点灯装置。
