Cattle feeding apparatus comprises an auger 10 driven by motor 14 to move food from a storage hopper 15 along a trough 9 provided with apertures in its base, an apertured shutter 18 being moved over the base of the trough to dispense feed into a manger 1. The manger is subdivided into pens 4-7 by bars 8 and the apertures in the base of the trough may be of varying sizes so that differing amounts of food can be delivered to each pen. The shutter may comprise a number of plates each controlling a single aperture and being coupled together for simultaneous actuation and the manger may be divided longitudinally. Food is fed into the hopper 15 by means of conveyer 16.
