Abstract

The invention comprises a compound having the formula: <FORM:0937722/IV(a)/1> or its tautomeric forms, salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions of these compounds, and a process for the manufacture of 1-isopropyl- 4-hydroxy- 6-benzylpyrazolo[3,4-d] pyrimidine and its salts, wherein a 2-isopropyl-3-amino-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ester is reacted with benzyl cyanide. Compositions having a coronary dilating action containing said compounds are administered enterally or parenterally in tablets, dragees, solutions, suspensions or emulsions.
