905,578. Supporting electric lamps. FANCY METAL GOODS Ltd., and LEITER, H. J. Dec. 19, 1960 [Sept. 18, 1959], No. 31799/59. Class 75 (3). [Also in Group XXXVI] An electric lighting fitting is suspended from a failing by a bayonet plug and socket coupling. A conduit 1, of the fitting, is screwed into a hole in the base of a cup 2 which is fixed to one end of a plug 3 with two pins 4 which engage bayonet slots 13 in a batten lamp-holder socket 11. To prevent inadvertent removal of plug 3 a screw 5 in plug 3 prevents turning of the plug until it is removed or until its head is screwed into a countersunk hole in the plug. Removal may alternatively be prevented by a spring clip (not shown) inserted into a bayonet slot. The end of the conduit 1 remote from the plug 3 is tapped and is engaged by a threaded tube (not shown) fixed to and projecting perpendicularly from a wiring housing 9 provided with tubular arms 10 having lamp-holders assembled to their outer extremities.
