Abstract

409,180. Electric light fixtures; electric-lamp holders. KELSO, S., 25, Sorauren Avenue, Toronto, Canada. Aug. 5, 1933, No. 22075. [Classes 39 (ii) and 75 (iii).] A lighting fixture comprises a disconnectible electric coupling 6, 15, one part 6 of which is mounted in a housing 2 secured to a ceiling or wall and the other part 15 attached to the lamp fitting 9. The part 6 is carried by a removable member 5 which, after attachment of the leads 3, 4, is secured in the housing 2 by means of projections 18 and bayonet slots 17, the slack of the leads being accommodated in the housing. The fitting leads 11, 12 are attached to the contacts 13, 14 in the part 15 and the slack received in a canopy 10 which, after the two parts of the coupling are engaged, is fastened to the housing 2 by pins 19 that enter the slots 17. The coupling may be of any type, e.g., the Edison screw socket and centre contact type, by means of which a temporary light may be obtained by inserting a lamp in the part 6 of the coupling.
