Abstract
895,484. Preventing furnace corrosion. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd., WILSDON, R. D., and RENDLE, L. K. Aug. 22, 1958 [Aug. 29, 1957], No. 27220/57. Addition to 797,439. Class 51 (1). Ammonia is added to the combustion products from a sulphur containing fuel in a part of the combustion zone in which the temperature lies between 150-350‹ C. The amount of ammonia is sufficient to convert all the sulphur trioxide in the gases to ammonium sulphate or ammonium bisulphate.
