902,140. Purifying gas. UNITED STEEL CO'S. Ltd. Jan. 23, 1959, No. 19845/61. Divided out of 902,138. Drawings to Specification. Class 55 (2). Industrial gases containing sulphur compounds are desulphurized by passage through an absorber containing one or more fluidized beds of iron or manganese oxide maintained at a temperature of between 320-400‹ C. and thereafter through one or more fluidized beds of hot fresh iron or manganese oxide maintained at a temperature between 50‹ and 200‹ C. Specifications 719,056 and 901,609 also are referred to.
