Abstract

891,611. Hose fitting. RESISTOFLEX CORPORATION. Jan. 3, 1961 [Jan. 15, 1960], No. 264/61. Class 99(1). A tamper-proof fitting for a hose having a liner tube 22 of substantially inelastic plastic material with a braided covering 20 thereon comprises a socket 10 having an internallythreaded section 13 and an internal conical surface 14, an annular body member 11 having an external conical surface 19 and an externally threaded section 23 adapted to be screwed into the socket whereby the end of the covering 20 is gripped between the conical surfaces 13, 23, and a nipple 12 adapted to be screwed into the body member so as to embrace the liner tube 22 therebetween. The body member has one or more radially inwardly extending annular ribs 29 which terminate in a relatively sharp edge and have a sufficient height so as to embed in the wall of the tube 22 to obtain a grip thereon adequate to resist separation of the fitting from the hose if the grip on the covering 20 should be lost and also to provide a fluid seal.
