Abstract

878,022. Seats, bed settees. RAMM & SONS Ltd., L. March 11, 1960 [March 12, 1959], No. 8587/59. Class 52(2). In a reclining chair in which foot 16, leg 15 seat 14 and back 13 sections are pivotally connected together, the cross arms of T-shaped links 26, extending in fixed relation to the foot section 16, are pivoted respectively to the leg section 15 and to operating links 27 so that the foot section 16 can be inverted into a position of use on lowering the back section 13 about its pivots 22 to the frame 10. Actuating arms 28 move the sections 15 and 16 in turn into the plane of the seat section 14 and the final motion of the section 16 is assisted by tension springs 32. Springs 30 control legs 29 having abutments 31 which ensure that the legs are maintained in the upright position. Devices to lock the chair in any intermediate position of adjustment are referred to.
