Abstract

799,689. Valves. NICHOLS, T. W. Nov. 15, 1956 [Feb. 10, 1956], No. 4290/56. Class 135. An oil control valve for rotary compressors comprises a casing 1 enclosing a piston 2 and a loose ball or other separate valve member 4. When compressor delivery pressure is applied at 7, the piston is raised and valve 4 is opened to allow the flow of oil between passages 5 and 6. An enlargement 3 on the piston prevents the leakage of fluid past the piston when the latter is in its raised position.
