Abstract

776,839. Valves. FINNEY PRESSES, Ltd. Dec. 9, 1954, No. 35691/54. Class 135. A valve 2 which, when the fluid pressure becomes excessive, shuts off the connection between a line P and a pressure gauge connected at 14 is provided with a sealing ring 16 which moves into the bore in the valve casing as the valve closes and prevents any leakage flow to the gauge along the outside of the valve. With the valve in the open position, flow takes place from the line P, through a porous metal filter 9 and holes in a block 12, and through a recess 15 in the valve to the passage 14. The valve is loaded by a spring 3, and the loading can be varied by adjustment of a screwed cap 7 against which the spring abuts. A spring- loaded ball valve 25 relieves any excess pressure that may develop.
