Abstract

643,374. Dashpots. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and ROUND, D.S. Nov. 29, 1947, No. 31617. [Class 108(iii)] In a dashpot, more particularly for use in weighing mechanism, of the kind in which a paddle 4 is adapted to be oscillated within a liquid-filled bath 7, the paddle is rotatably mounted on an actuating rod 5 and coupled thereto through the intermediary of a wound bimetallic coil 9 whereby variations in temperature will effect a partial rotation of the paddle relative to the rod and thereby change the angular setting of the paddle relative to its path of motion to accord with changes in the viscosity of the fluid in the dashpot. The rod 5 is secured in a socket 10 forming part of a pendulous rod 11 dependent from the weighing mechanism, to permit initial angular setting of the paddle.
