619,197. Clocks. ETERNA SOC. ANON. FABRIQUE D'HORLOGERIE. Nov. 26, 1946, No. 35070. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1945. [Class 139] A buffer spring for the swinging weight in clocks with automatic winding comprises a V-shaped spring 2 placed in a recess in the casing 1, Fig. 1, and cooperating with a member 7 in a recess or slot 8 against which.member the swinging weight 9 strikes. A pin 3 placed between the limbs of the spring 2 serves to suddenly increase the resistance offered to the weight by suddenly shortening the effective length of the limbs being bent by the weight. In Fig. 2 the limbs of the spring 2 are bent inwardly at 10 so dispensing with the pin 3. In another embodiment (not shown), a second V-shaped spring of stronger resistance is placed inside the spring 2.
