Abstract
624,488. Valve accessories. PIRELLI SOC. PER AZIONI. April 8, 1947, No. 9354. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1945. [Class 135] In a high-pressure fluid control valve, the valve element 8 is interposed between the inlet orifice 3 and the base of a cup-shaped, elastically flexible sealing member 12, the walls of which expand to give sealing contact with the wall of the valve chamber and with the periphery of the thrust member 16, when the valve is open, and are unstressed when the valve is closed. A stem 17, joining the element 8 and the member 16, is shorter than the hole in the member 12 in its unstressed condition, thus causing said member to seal about the stem.
