613,748. Double door fasteners. KUHN, M. W., and DUTSON & CO., Ltd. July 1, 1946, No. 19551. [Class 44] A fastener for double-hinged doors to fasten the first closed door 1 when the second 2 is closed comprises a sliding spring-urged bolt 8 in a housing 6 fixed to a stationary part such as the floor. The nose 10 of the bolt is engaged by a striking plate 22 on the second door and the bolt moved against the spring 16 so that the tail part 12 engages behind a plate 19 on the first door. The bolt is formed from a strip of sheet metal bent to hollow box form with an inclined nose 10 and is guided over a pin 14 on which bears the spring. The striking plate 22 may be formed as shown, yieldingly to secure the door or alternatively a separate fastener, e.g. a turnbuckle, may be provided to fasten the doors together.
