Abstract

581,092. Hooks for attachment to ladders. HACKETT, G. H., and WILLIAMS, R. July 14, 1944, No. 13492. [Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] A device to be hooked on to a ladder for supporting workmen's materials such as pots of paint, brushes &c. in a convenient position, comprises a strip of metal bent at a to hook over a rung of the ladder, to which is pivotally attached a lever e, e' from one arm of which depends a hook g engaging under the next lower rung of the ladder, the other arm on the opposite side of the pivot being formed with hooks j, j' or other means for supporting paint pots &c., the weight of the arm e and the articles hung on it tending to hold the hooks of the device firmly on the rungs. The pivot d may be formed from a bolt carrying a wing nut f by which the pivot may be clamped for further security. Several pivot holes c are provided to give adjustment for varying rung spacings. The arm e is preferably offset from the arm e' to clear the side of the ladder. An additional hook k may conveniently be formed on the end of the member hooking over the upper rung.
