Abstract
494,488. Ball joints. GACK, K. March 18, 1938, Nos. 8363 and 8364. Convention dates, March 23, 1937 and Feb. 16, 1938. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] An adjustable drawing-board A adapted to be clamped to a table or the like is carried slidably by a stem a fixed to a ball f clamped between two socket members h, g, which are secured so as to prevent them turning relatively to one another. The socket member g is integral with a clamp B and the ball is clamped by the member h which is connected by bolts i, i<1> extending through slots t, t<1> in the socket g to a plate l carrying a screw o, the head p of which bears upon the socket member g and carries a lever q which is turned to release or clamp the ball f. To eliminate play between the parts, a set-screw m is provided passing through a thickened part n of the socket member g and bearing against one of the bolts i so as to force both bolts against the walls of their slots t.
