Abstract

584,685. Work-holders. CLAUSEN, N. P. July 24, 1944, No. 14104. [Class 83 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIII] The squared outer surfaces of a rectangular hollow or solid block 1 for marking off or setting up work for grinding or machining are provided with a number of holes 2 some or all of which are tapped to facilitate the attachment of work. An inclinable support 7 secured to the block by the bolt 6 and having tapped holes 12 may be fixed at desired inclinations by means of a screw 9 co-acting with the arcuate slot 10 and holes 8. The clamping plate 15 may be supported on the block 1 by means of keys 19 fitting into keyways 4 and is also provided with tapped holes 17. Fig. 12 shows the method of setting up work 20 on the block 1, prior to machining or grinding, by the use of a surface plate 21 and gauge 22.
