Abstract

Porous building - materials are produced from compositions with a base of hydraulic binding agents which contain free lime, such as concrete, mortar, or plaster, by incorporating in the mix an aqueous solution of ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, chloride of lime, and alkali metal hypochlorite. Limestone may be incorporated in the mix if the mix only contains a small amount of lime. It is stated that the size of the cells produced may be influenced by incorporating in the mix colloids such as ossein, albumen, animal glue, gelatine, saponin, or bentonite. Specification 399,367 is referred to. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 any alkali or alkali earth metal hypochlorite may be used instead of the mixture of chloride of lime and alkali metal hypochlorite. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
