434,960. Vehicle wheels. KELSEYHAYES WHEEL CO., 3600, Military Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. March 12, 1934, No. 7836. Convention date, March 27, 1933. [Class 144 (i)] A sheet-metal wheel comprises a main load-supporting inner disc 1 which is formed with an attachment-flange 6, a short hub-portion 10, and spokes 9 with strengthening-ribs 91, and an outer closure-disc 3 formed of lightgauge metal. The disc 3 is formed with spokearms and hub-portions 16, 18 respectively, the edges of which are seamed over, or welded to, the main disc 1. The central opening of the disc 1 is closed by a cap 20 which is secured by spring-clips 22 carried by the flanged edge 19 of the disc. The flanged outer ends 13 of the spokes 9 are secured to the rim 2 by rivets 14. In a modification, the disc 3 is extended axially to form a hub-barrel portion.
