287,685. Sutcliffe, R. L. Feb, 14, 1927. Spindle apparatus.-Relates to detachable members mounted on the spindles of ring spinning, twisting, doubling, or like machines in order that after the completion of the winding of the bobbins a few turns of yarn may be wound thereon to facilitate the starting of a new bobbin, and consists in so forming such a member 5 for use in a worsted machine that it engages with projections d on the usual hoop 6 provided for carrying the bobbins and with the bobbins by means of projections 5<b>, while the upper flange 5<c> thereof is larger in diameter than the flange of the bobbin so that, upon restarting, the yarn is engaged thereby and the starting of the traveller is facilitated.
