Abstract
239,180. Maschinenfabrik Augsburg- Niirnberg Akt.-Ges. Sept. 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Tripping-arrangements; inking-apparatus. - Tripping-devices for the offset cylinders and for the inking-rollers of rotary offset presses having several printing sets are so constructed that the cylinders and inking rollers of each set can be tripped by electromagnetic means either simultaneously, or in selected groups, or singly. As shown, the offset cylinder b and the inking-rollers d of a rotary offset machine a, b, c are tripped by an eccentric k on a shaft e, the eccentric lever serving to rotate eccentric bearings in which the offset cylinder is rotated. The lever also actuates a lever m connected to the inking-roller tripping means. The shaft e is geared by wheels h, g to a gear f free to slide on the shaft i which normally rotates without driving the gear f. The wheel f is moved axially by a plate q when a set of electromagnets o is energized by the depression of a switch n<1>, Fig. 3. The axial movement causes the wheel f to be clutched to the shaft i, and the tripping-devices are thus actuated. After half-a-revolution of the shaft e a projection v actuates a switch w to open the electiomagnet circuit, and a spring stop t holds the shaft e so that that rollers remain tripped until the switch n<1> is again operated. The plate q is moved by spring-action to declutch the gear f. The electric circuits to three electromagnets o<1>, o', o<3> are shown in Fig. 3, and in addition to the switches n<1>, n<2>, n<3> for operating the tripping- devices of three separate printing-sets, there are provided switches y<1>, y<2>, y<3> so arranged that if all three switches are closed either of the switches n<1>, n<2>, n<3> will operate all the tripping-devices, or if any pair or switches y', y<2>, y<1> is closed the corresponding switches n<1>, n<2>, n<3> will operate two tripping-devices.
