The invention relates to a device for tight-fitting garments, especially corselettes, the body of which consists of elastic material at least at the front and back, characterised in that the sides of the garment body have inserted therein elements permitting adjustment of the width of the garment, said elements comprising zip fasteners (1) combined with pieces (2) of elastic material placed under said fastener, attached along the side bands thereof and defining the size of the zip fastener openings. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Device for tight-fitting garments The present invention relates to a device for tightfitting garments, especially corselettes, the body of which consists of elastic material at least at the front and back.
The object of the invention is to provide a device which permits adjustment of the width of the garment at the same time as it facilitates putting it on and taking it off.
The essential characteristic of the device according to the invention is that the sides of the garment body have inserted therein elements permitting adjustment of the width of the garment, said elements comprising zip fasteners combined with pieces of elastic material placed under said fasteners, attached along the side bands thereof and defining the size of the zip fastener openings.
An embodiment of the device according to the invention will be described more in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig 1 is a diagonal front view of a garment including the device of the invention, with the zip fastener in closed position; and Fig 2 is a diagonal back view of the garment with the zip fastener in open position.
The garment, which in the illustrated embodiment is a so-called corsellette, is designed to girdle the body and is made of elastic material with a certain stretchability.
The stretchability of the material makes it possible to extend it up to a certain limit. However, when putting on and taking off the garment the stretchability of the material may prove insufficient at the waist portion and this may result in permanent deformation of splits in the material.
The total width of the garment according to the invention can be further extended since this garment has on either side of the waist a vertically extending zip fastener 1 and a piece 2 of textile material which is stretchable to a certain limit, said piece being placed under the zip fastener and attached along the two side bands thereof.
The purpose of said underlying piece of material is to prevent separation of the zip fastener sides beyond a certain limit.
The fact that the zip fastener is combined with an underlying piece of elastic material makes it possible to adjust the width of the waist of the garment so that one and the same garment can be adapted to fit two different sizes. The smaller size is obtained when both the zip fasteners are closed. If the fastener on one side is opened and the elasticity of the underlying piece of material is utilized, then the waist of the garment will increase in width by half a size and if both the zip fasteners are opened the waist will increase by a full size.
Said underlying piece of material has not only the function of controlling the zip fastener opening but it is also designed to screen off said opening from the inside.
The invention should not be considered restricted to that described above and shown in the drawings but may be modified in various ways within the scope of the appended claim.
1. A garment, the body of which comprises elastic material at least at the front and back, wherein the sides of the garment body have inserted therein elements permitting adjustment of the width of the garment, said elements comprising sliding fasteners combined with pieces of elastic material, placed under said fasteners, attached along the side bands thereof and defining the size of the slide fastener openings.
2. A garment according to claim 1 which is a corselett.
3. A garment substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

SPECIFICATION Device for tight-fitting garments The present invention relates to a device for tightfitting garments, especially corselettes, the body of which consists of elastic material at least at the front and back. The object of the invention is to provide a device which permits adjustment of the width of the garment at the same time as it facilitates putting it on and taking it off. The essential characteristic of the device according to the invention is that the sides of the garment body have inserted therein elements permitting adjustment of the width of the garment, said elements comprising zip fasteners combined with pieces of elastic material placed under said fasteners, attached along the side bands thereof and defining the size of the zip fastener openings. An embodiment of the device according to the invention will be described more in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig 1 is a diagonal front view of a garment including the device of the invention, with the zip fastener in closed position; and Fig 2 is a diagonal back view of the garment with the zip fastener in open position. The garment, which in the illustrated embodiment is a so-called corsellette, is designed to girdle the body and is made of elastic material with a certain stretchability. The stretchability of the material makes it possible to extend it up to a certain limit. However, when putting on and taking off the garment the stretchability of the material may prove insufficient at the waist portion and this may result in permanent deformation of splits in the material. The total width of the garment according to the invention can be further extended since this garment has on either side of the waist a vertically extending zip fastener 1 and a piece 2 of textile material which is stretchable to a certain limit, said piece being placed under the zip fastener and attached along the two side bands thereof. The purpose of said underlying piece of material is to prevent separation of the zip fastener sides beyond a certain limit. The fact that the zip fastener is combined with an underlying piece of elastic material makes it possible to adjust the width of the waist of the garment so that one and the same garment can be adapted to fit two different sizes. The smaller size is obtained when both the zip fasteners are closed. If the fastener on one side is opened and the elasticity of the underlying piece of material is utilized, then the waist of the garment will increase in width by half a size and if both the zip fasteners are opened the waist will increase by a full size. Said underlying piece of material has not only the function of controlling the zip fastener opening but it is also designed to screen off said opening from the inside. The invention should not be considered restricted to that described above and shown in the drawings but may be modified in various ways within the scope of the appended claim. CLAIMS
1. A garment, the body of which comprises elastic material at least at the front and back, wherein the sides of the garment body have inserted therein elements permitting adjustment of the width of the garment, said elements comprising sliding fasteners combined with pieces of elastic material, placed under said fasteners, attached along the side bands thereof and defining the size of the slide fastener openings.
2. A garment according to claim 1 which is a corselett.
3. A garment substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
