Connecting uppers to insoles and soles; clogs. -A clog sole A, Fig. 3, is provided with a flange a round the heel only, and the upper B, B', Fig. 1, is cut away at b to provide a shoulder at the heel breast. The edges of the upper are then tacked to the edges of the sole and the flange portion of the heel, and are then covered with one or more strips C of leather, which are secured by fine tacks. The boot may be finished by the provision of tread pieces D, D' of leather, or inserted plugs of leather, rubber, &c., or by fitting it with clog irons.
