Abstract

Liquid fuel, especially suitable for use in internal combustion engines, consists of a mixture of tar-oils distilling up to 130 DEG C., raw petroleum oil fractions distilling up to 260 DEG C., and an oxygen carrier such as wood spirit. The tar-oils may be obtained from pit-coal, brown coal, lignite, peat and the like and the petroleum distillates from earth or rock oils. The vapours of the tar oil and raw petroleum oil distillates may be mixed during distillation. After adding the oxygen carrier, the fuel may be allowed to settle for several hours, and then filtered. In an example, 40-50 per cent of tar distillate passing over between 75-130 DEG C. is mixed with 40-50 per cent of raw petroleum oil distillate passing over between 50-260 DEG C. and 3-5 per cent dehydrated wood spirit.
