Motor spirit consists of petrol, benzine, gasolene, or other usual fuel and sufficient to prevent knocking of the materials boiling up to 200<c> C. extracted by sulphur dioxide from the 150- 300‹ C. distillates of shale or mineral oil or lignite tar. In an example, 10 litres of the extract are added to 100 litres of 0.736 gasolene.
