1457359 Oleana-11,13(18)-dienes BIOREX LABORATORIES Ltd 9 June 1975 [25 June 1974] 28093/74 Heading C2U The invention comprises compounds of formula (wherein R 1 is H or optionally substituted alkyl; and R 2 and R 3 are each optionally substituted alkyl), and their preparation by enol esterification of the corresponding 11-oxo-12- enes. Methyl glycyrrhetinate 3-hexanoate is prepared from the 3-ol-using hexanoyl chloride. Propyl glycyrrhetinate 3-acetate is prepared from the 30-acid chloride using propanol. Antiinflammatory compositions for unspecified routes of administration comprise a compound I and a carrier.
