Abstract
1440624 Production of urea INVENTA AG FUR FORSCHUNG UND PATENTVERWERTUNG 2 Oct 1974 13358/73 Heading C2C Urea is produced from ammonia and carbon dioxide in a reaction vessel in which the reaction temperature is preferably at least 160‹ C., and water is continuously removed from the urea melt in the reaction vessel, so that the molar ratio of the water to the urea produced in the reaction vessel is preferably always less than 1. The water removal may be effected by withdrawing part at least of the gases present in the reaction vessel, separating the water in a partial condenser, and recycling the dried gases to the reaction vessel.
