Abstract
1438149 Microwave filters NIPPON HOSO KYOKAI 22 May 1973 [23 May 1972] 24361/73 Heading H1W [Also in Division H2] A microwave filter comprises a two part 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>11</SP> waveguide which, when assembled, encloses a thin E-plane septum 1 defining a cut-off portion of the waveguide and carrying slots providing planar circuit members. Thus, the H-shaped slots 8 provide coupled resonators and form a filter. The edge of the septum 1 may be spaced from the broad side of the waveguide so as to form a ridge-line or image slot line 16, Fig. 8. Coupled to this line are a pair of L-shaped half-wave resonators 15, 15, spaced by a coupling interval of one quarter-wavelength. These provide a band-stop filter. As shown in Fig. 11, the septum is in two parts and defines a slot line loaded with dielectric material 17. In another embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown), two image slot-lines on either side and at either end of the septum are coupled by half-wave slots.
