Abstract

1348860 Incinerators GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 22 June 1972 [2 July 1971] 29365/72 Heading F4B A horizontal incinerator having a combustion chamber 22 is fed with waste and primary air by a pipe 20 arranged tangentially in a side wall of the chamber, to produce a vortical movement of the waste towards end wall 24. The vortical movement is maintained by the introduction of secondary air through tangential openings 44, this introduction being controlled by dampers 56 in each of the supply pipes 46. The waste is ignited by a burner 38, gaseous products being removed through a discharge flue 76, and other non-combustible products through an opening 85, and passed to a separator 96 through a conduit 86.
