Abstract

1310529 Scaffolding joints RAPID METAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 10 Dec 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 47170/69 Heading E1S A joint for connecting a pair of scaffolding members 10, 11 comprises a T-section lug 12 on one member 10 and a channel-section bracket 15 on the other member 11, the lug and the bracket having interengaging flanges 14, 19, respectively, which are held in engagement by a wedge 20 which is slidably mounted in the bracket 15 for movement into and out of a locking position. The wedge 20 is preferably of T-shaped cross-section, and the inturned flanges 19 of the bracket 15 are supported on a plate at the base of the lug 12. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown), T- shaped apertures are formed in the sides 18 of the bracket 15 for insertion of the wedge therethrough transversely of both members 10, 11. The wedge 20 is held captive in the bracket by formations 23 on its narrower end.
