Abstract

1307908 Valves ALUMASC Ltd 19 April 1971 [3 April 1970] 15803/70 Heading F2V A beverage dispensing tap having a main closure member 14 actuable by lever 23 as disclosed in Specification 1,220,824 is provided with an anti-frothing restriction defined by a conical plug 37 and a fitting 30 having a complementary bore 36. The plug 37 is connected by webs 40 to bush 38 and is adjusted axially relative to fitting 30 by rotation of nut 31 which advances the tap body axially of fitting 30, the nut 31 being secured against axial movement relative to inlet 11 by spring clip 33. Stud 35 in the inlet 11 is received in an axial groove in fitting 30. The plug 37 may arrest flow completely to allow maintenance downstream thereof. The lever 23 may be displaceable about the axis of stem 16, after unseating the closure member 14, to bring abutment 53 beneath lug 52 of nylon ring 48 to allow the tap to remain open.
