Abstract

1,251,518. Pipe couplings. KRAMPE & CO. 1 Nov., 1968 [3 Nov., 1967], No. 52015/68. Heading F2G. A quickly-actuable coupling for joining hose- and pipe-lines comprises a socket 1, a plug 2 and a locking sleeve 8, the socket having an annular groove 4 and at least one axial recess connecting with the groove, and the plug being provided with a collar 7 rotatable but not axially displaceable relative thereto the collar having at least one radially extending ear 3 adapted to be inserted in the recess of the socket and after relative rotation of the collar and socket to engage in the groove 4 to couple the socket and plug together and to be freely rotatable in the groove. The locking sleeve is spring biased towards the axial position for locking and slidably mounted for axial displacement on the socket and has a lug adapted in the locking position to engage in and close each axial recess in the socket to complete the annular groove 4 and prevent removal of the ear therefrom.
