Abstract

1,202,824. Lamps. ESQUIRE Inc. 18 March, 1969 [14 May, 1968], No. 14119/69. Heading F4R. [Also in Division H2] A lighting fitting 10 for use in an emergency lighting system comprises a gaseous discharge lamp 22 arranged between two incandescent lamps 24, 26. The discharge lamp 22 is used for normal illumination and the lamps 24, 26 form the emergency light source and tend to maintain the ambient temperature in the fitting 10 to enhance the striking of the discharge lamp when the supply voltage returns to its normal value.
