Abstract

1,195,842. Printing process. GEVAERTAGFA N.V. 21 June, 1967 [24 June. 1966], No. 28556/66. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] Multiple copies are produced by heating an image-wise exposed thermographic material containing a pigment such as carbon black (see Division G2) and pressing into contact with a receptor sheet to transfer a stratum of the non- exposed areas thereto and then repeating the transfer process with further receptor sheets. Alternatively, lactographic masters can be produced if the "receptor" sheet contains a dye layer which is transferred to the unexposed areas of the thermographic material. The colour of the transferred image may be amplified either by having one colour reactant in the thermographie material and another in the receptor sheet or by dusting the image after transfer with a coloured toner.
