Abstract

1,156,924. Hot water boilers. H. VIESSMANN. 14 Sept., 1966 [30 Sept., 1965], No. 41146/66. Heading F4A. A hot water storage tank 1 located within the water containing shell of a boiler, comprises a corrugated cylindrical wall portion 2 and sealing end portions 3, 4. Water inlet and outlet tubes 6, 7 and a cleaning hole 5 are provided in one or other of the end portions. The end portions 3, 4 which include flow channels 15 to aid the flow of heating water about the outside of the tank 1, are provided with reinforcing means. These may comprise correspondingly shaped portions 8, 8<SP>1</SP> of the adjacent boiler walls, or else perforated sheet steel covers (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). Additionally ring shaped perforated sectional elements 10, 10<SP>1</SP> attached to the boiler walls 9, 9<SP>1</SP> support concave longitudinal straps 11 which reinforce the tank 1 whilst allowing its longitudinal expansion. Alternatively one of the ring shaped elements may be dispensed with, the straps being secured directly to the perforated covers and the boiler walls. The tank may be vertically mounted within the boiler.
