Abstract

1,145,833. Stationery. RANK XEROX Ltd. 20 May, 1966 [1 June, 1965; 3 Aug., 1965], Nos. 23259/65 and 33086/65. Heading B6A. A duplex sheet for use in a copying machine comprises a relatively thick carrier sheet (1) and a relatively thin copy sheet 2 which is in face-to-face relationship with the carrier sheet and is secured to the carrier sheet. The two sheets may be secured together at one or both ends, or around the whole periphery, and the sheets may be secured by gumming, stitching, stapling, or crimping. As shown, perforation lines 5, 6 are formed in the copy sheet 2, and the margins 3, 4 are glued to the carrier sheet (1); but the perforations 5, 6 may be formed in both sheets, so that the margins 3, 4 are readily removable. The carrier sheet (1) may be formed of newsprint, or of paper having a weight between 40 and 200 grams per square metre; and the copy sheet 2 may be of paper having a weight between 20 and 40 grams per square metre. Such a duplex sheet can be handled more easily than flimsy copy sheets in a sheet feeder and copying machines of the electrophotographic type.
