Abstract

1,112,625. Valves. R. A. ANDERSSON. 25 May, 1965, No. 22058/65. Heading F2V. In a pilot-operated valve of the kind comprising a diaphragm 4 defining a movable wall of a chamber 18 and co-operating with a seat 3 to control flow from an inlet 1 to an outlet 2, the chamber is connected to the inlet via a passage 28 containing an adjustable needle valve 25, and to the outlet via a pilot valve 5 actuated by a lever 30 which is biased to the closed position, e.g. by weights or a spring, An adjustable stop 19 defines the valve-open position. Thus, when the pilot valve is opened and closed, the main valve opens to allow flow at a rate determined by stop 19 and for a period determined by needle valve 25.
