Abstract

1,064,589. Continuous metal heating furnaces. PRIEST FURNACES Ltd. Nov. 25, 1965 [Oct. 26, 1964], No. 43654/64. Heading F4B. In a continuous metal heating furnace having skid rails 13 leading to a soaking hearth 15, the latter is formed with channels 23 in alignment with the skid rails and forming with refractory blocks 27 passages for combustion gases supplied by burners 24. Each passage opens through ports 25 into two flues 26 discharging at 14 into the main heating chamber 11.
