Abstract
A bainitic spheroidal graphite iron comprises:- C 3-3.3% Si 1.6-2.23% Mu 0.27-0.6% Ni 3.5-5.1% Cr 0.15-0.91% Mo 0.39-1.0% Mg present in an amount less than 0.1% Rare earth metal 0-0.005% the balance, apart from impurities, being iron. Impurities which may be present are:- .Cu.up to 0.5% .P.up to 0.12% .S.up to 0.025% .Al.up to 0.05% .Ti.up to 0.05% .Pb.up to 0.002% .Sb.up to 0.002% .Bi.up to 0.002%
